Once described as “positively embracing change”, Val’s artwork is ever evolving. She loves to try out new techniques, tools and media, and uses a sketchbook journal to experiment and explore new ways of working.

Inspiration for her paintings comes from the world around her. It may be intriguing shapes or patterns, elements of the landscape or the words of a poem. Val interprets these ideas using a limited colour palette with strong lines, bold shapes, striking contrasts, vibrant colours and intriguing textures.
