The paintings explore the boundaries between the contemporary, the work aims to evoke a feeling to capture a sense of place, an atmosphere or an unexpected detail rather than reproduce a direct likeness. Energising the stillness of the place, the object, dark and diffused light, the quiet moment, the in-between, the simplicity and the calmness running through the work, a thread of using opposites to celebrate the strengths, the fragility, the beauty and the transience of life.
