Colourscape Exhibition details announced...

29/5/2015

"Colourscape", an exhibition of abstract and semi-abstract paintings and collages by Sue Melville and Annabel Ossel, will be on at the gallery from 20 – 27 June 2015.

Sue Melville aims to evoke the essence of particular landscape or garden using colour, line and texture in an expressive way. Sue paints mainly in acrylics but also uses watercolours.

By contrast, Annabel Ossel’s acrylic paintings juxtapose blocks of bright colour. The seemingly random shapes, which are often geometric but rarely symmetrical, are inspired by both man-made and natural forms, such as kites, towers, fields and river deltas.

The exhibition runs between 20 and 27 June. Opening times: Saturdays and Monday to Friday 10am – 5.30pm, Sunday 15th 11am – 4pm

Meet the artists on Open Day, Saturday 20 June - Refreshment will be available.

Both artists will also be present on Sunday 21st, as well as Saturday 27th June.

Sue will also be in the gallery during the mornings (10am - 1.45pm) of  23, 24 and 26 June and Annabel will be there during the afternoons (1.45pm -  5.30pm) of  22, 25 and 26 June.

On the opening Saturday of the new "Thinking Big" exhibition at the Eagle Gallery in Bedford; Eagle Artist Anthony Mackay could be found working on a new oil painting.

The exhibition displays larger pieces from a select group of Eagle Artists. Normally 1 metre width or height is the maximum size for member shows, so this is a rare chance to find bigger work.

The exhibition continues until next Saturday.
