I studied sculpture and printmaking at Lincoln & Liverpool Art Colleges. After settling in Bedfordshire, I took up various teaching posts in the county, working mainly in Luton.
I have shown work in Suffolk, Winchester and in the ‘Bedfordshire Open Studio Events’. My paintings, prints and photographs are inspired by the passage of time through light, colour, shadow and texture. I grew up between the North Sea and the River Trent and childhood memories of neap tides, barges, ships, working wharfs and days spent on the East coast are interlaced with dominant sculptural features of steel works.
I am interested in the ever changing environments and our attempts to cope with and accept that change. I find the beautiful coast of Suffolk and the city of Venice give me the chance to express these ideas. The East Coast is under constant change from rising sea levels, claiming cliffs and beaches, returning fields to marshland; the city of Venice changes visually with reflected light and is in constant flux as attempts are made to rescue it from the rising tides.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work and any queries can be directed to me via my my email address or website.
