Juliet Lawson

Juliet Lawson was born in London. She studied Art and Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Art before working at the Royal Court Theatre in London as an Assistant Designer.

Her career path then diversified into music and theatre, as a singer and songwriter, and it was only in 2002 that she began to draw again. Since then Juliet has enjoyed exhibiting both at her own Open Studios in Bedfordshire, where she now lives, and in Open competitions.

She works mainly in soft pastels and pen and ink, but increasingly in watercolour. Working on the basis that all life is in constant motion, Juliet endeavours to keep a flow through all she presents, still life is never static, the human form is never completely still. She likes to capture the split second snapshot moment: her sketchbook is her camera.
