Isla Woiwod

Much of my work is based on the rural landscape which is a constant source of inspiration to me. Fields, tracks fences trees and plants all create interesting semi abstract forms. I want to stretch the visual experience by using the elements and structure of a landscape.

Colour is fundamental to my work I like to experiment with it and push the boundaries. It is used to express visual emotion and excitement. Colour is very stimulating and I enjoy discovering how different combinations react together in new ways

I also visit the coast on a regular basis which is another continuing source of inspiration. The sea, sand dunes, pebbles and the vast openness of this environment always move me.
